Using OTPs to authenticate

You can use a one-time-passcode (OTP) to log in to the user portal. You use a third party authenticator (like Google Authenticator) or the Centrify client application to scan a Centrify generated QR code and get the OTP.

Important: Your system administrator must enable this feature before you can use it.

To get an OTP:

1. Log in to the user portal.

2. Click Account > Security > Show QR Code.

Note: The text associated with the Show QR Code button reflects the text that your systems administrator entered when they configured this feature.

The QR code displays.

3. Use a third party authenticator application or the Centrify client application on your device to scan the QR code.

4. A passcode is displayed on the third party authenticator application and on the Passcodes page of the Centrify application.

You can now enter the passcode to log in to Centrify. This authentication works across tenants. On the Passcodes page of the Centrify application, you can tap the relevant code to silently send that code and authenticate for the relevant user/endpoint.
